Expert Dr. Lou Aronne: So let’s say, like everybody else, you get through the holidays and you gain that four to seven pounds. What are you going to do? Forget about it. Just get on with it in January. There are a lot of different reasons why people gain weight. But what do you do if you gain the weight that you always gain. Here’s the most important thing. You can’t give up, You can’t say oh I’ve gained that weight. Because one of the big problems is that people gain that weight over the holidays and then they don’t take it off. And then they wind up holding onto it for the whole year, and then they gain another four pounds and then every year they just keep gaining, gaining, gaining. So what you got to do, come January is get on track. Don’t beat yourself up. Just get back on track when it comes to January, get back on your plan, go back to your exercise. You’ll be fine by the end of January. |
